Indiana Fall Faceoff
Welcome to Evansville, Indiana’s 3rd largest city. Situated on a gentle bend of the Ohio River at the hub between Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, Evansville is a sizable metropolis with small town friendliness. There is something for everyone to discover, whether it is a chance encounter with Lady Luck on the riverboat Casino Aztar, a brisk hike along the Riverfront promenade or a step into history at Angel Mounds State Historic Site. If you're looking for something more, it’s OK, there’s much more to do in this city on the banks of the Ohio; from a trip to Bosse Field where the movie A League of Their Own was filmed to the Dream Car Museum, a must see for any car enthusiast. There are also plenty of wineries, micro breweries, bars and restaurants along the way.
As for the hockey when the puck drops this fall in Evansville you’ll face off against teams from all over Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and Ohio to name a few. The beautiful Swonder Ice Arena plays host with two of the best sheets of ice in all Indiana. There’s great competition at all levels so gather your teammates, pack up your gear and we will see you at the rink.
Great Lakes Capital Classic
Michigan’s capital region offers a one-of-a-kind setting for a visit to remember! Explore endless and diverse dining options, browse unique boutiques and galleries and discover the typical Midwest flavor that makes up the region. Celebrate culture and the arts in world-class performance venues or catch the Spartan Spirit with a visit to the campus of Michigan State University.
Whether it's enjoying a microbrew in a historic building or bringing out your inner foodie as you pair made-from-scratch foods with freshly crafted beers, Lansing has the brewery for you. Be sure to check out Soup Spoon Café. Soup Spoon has gone from a greasy spoon breakfast joint to one of the premier dining establishments in town. Their menu features dishes for all appetites and budgets, and they serve only Michigan beer on tap.
Any time off the ice can also be spent with a visit to the beautifully restored State Capital Building or the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum since Lansing is the birthplace of Oldsmobile. If you’re looking for something more on the active side, check out High Caliber Karting and try the indoor tracks, state-of-the-art racing simulators or give axe throwing a go. There’s something for everyone in Lansing.
The beautiful Summit Ice and Sports Center plays host for our Great Lakes Capital Classic and features two awesome sheets of ice, both an Olympic and NHL size. On the ice no doubt you’ll be matched against great competition. Teams and players from all over the state as well as Illinois, Indiana and Ohio will want to jump in. North Star Classic
Welcome to the State of Hockey, 10,000 Lakes and whole lot more. Edina Minnesota and the beautiful Braemar Arena play host to our Northern Star Hockey Classic. Just take a look and you’ll surely see why this location shines so bright.
On the ice players abound, in this part of the world it’s hard to find someone that doesn’t or hasn’t played hockey. Braemar Arena is a destination itself, home of da beauty league where pro players compete 3 on 3 during the months of July and August getting ready for their upcoming season. A multi sheet facility with all the bells and whistles. Located just 11 miles from the Excel Energy Center, home of the Minnesota Wild, it’s everything a player could want. Whatever your level, you’re sure to find plenty of teams to test your skill.
Off the ice there’s no shortage of activities to fill your time. When you think of the Minneapolis area, there’s the obvious choices: Mall of America, Sea Life Aquarium or Target Field - home of the Twins but there’s so much more. The area is also home to numerous craft breweries, wineries, distilleries and restaurants for every taste. For those that seek the outdoors there’s Minneapolis By Bike, Bredesen Park, the Braemar Golf Course and many water related attractions. So call up the boys, gather your gear and we’ll see you in Minnesota.
St. Louis and O'Fallon, Illinois
Just across the river from St. Louis sets the town of O’Fallon Illinois, home of McKendree University and their brand-new Metro Rec Plex. The beautiful 2 sheet facility plays host to our St. Louis spring tournament – Arch Madness. Teams looking for a challenge will have the chance to take the ice with some of the best talent from the area and across the country. Not to worry there’s plenty of room for all the rest of us as well.
The area has much to offer during your time off the ice. It's just a short drive across the river to St. Louis. Could be you'll want to take a trip up the Arch or some time spent risking it all in one of the area’s many riverboat casinos. Catch a game if the Blues are in town. Visit the Busch brewery or take a short drive to Missouri wine country; there are plenty of free samples for those over 21. Once the sun sets, the clubs and venues on Laclede’s Landing and in the Delmar Loop come alive with music from local and nationally known artists. It’s sure to see that you and your teammates will have a great time at Arch Madness.
Bay City Michigan
Great Lakes Quest for the Cup
Best known for its automotive industry and the strikingly blue Great Lakes, Michigan earns bragging rights in all sorts of other tourist-friendly ways. With a prime location on Lake Huron, the Great Lakes Bay Region offers abundant outdoors activities and rich cultural heritage. Bay City is known for its historic charm and nautical atmosphere. Home to the famed Tall Ships Celebration which arrives every few years, the pulse of this community is centered around the Saginaw Bay. The Appledore Tall Ship and the Bay City Boat Lines allow you to experience the Bay for yourself, and the downtown area is filled with endless shopping and dining opportunities. Book a ride aboard the Sunrise Pedal Trolley and enjoy a pint or two as you pedal the streets of Bay City with stops at Tri-City Brewing Company, Lumber Barons Brewery or Tavern 101.
